Assessment, assessment, assessment

This week was all about assessment. This was a really interesting topic to cover because all of teaching comes down to assessment. If a teacher does not know where their students stand in their learning, or where they need to go, it is impossible to differentiate instruction in a proper way.

We talked about many different types of assessment this week. I would like to highlight formative assessment because I feel that it is one that is really important and does not have as much emphasis as it should. Formative assessment is an ongoing assessment, or an assessment on progress. This type of assessment is crucial because it involves keeping up with students' learning and formulating a plan to instruct this student at an appropriate level.

Also this week we created our own quizzes about assessment using the different level of Bloom's Taxonomy. I really liked this activity; I have never used google to create a quiz/test before but it is definitely something I can see myself doing in the future. It was quick, easy, and very user friendly. I really like how the results were posted right into a goole form so that I can see all of the students answers. This makes it very easy to grade, and saves a lot of time.

First steps

First day of school: The break went by way too fast, but it is nice to get back into the swing of things.

We were assigned our about me projects, and I'm pretty happy with how mine came out. I am excited to see everybody else's and how all of the other technology works!
